3. Head to a music festival abroad

Melt! in Germany, Benicassim in Spain and Tomorrowland in Belgium are just some of the unreal European festivals to head to if you want a bit of craic away from home.

4. Swim in the Atlantic ocean

If you're doing the Atlantic Way trip, brace the icy Irish waters and go for a dip. You'll be freezing your arse off, but it'll worth it for bragging rights.

5. Have bonfire on the beach

There's nothing quite like sitting around a fire on a beach with a guitar or even a pair of speakers. Grab a few marshmallows and get toasting.

6. Go on a Guinness pub crawl

Whether it's your local few pubs, or even around Dublin, make a night out of trying a pint of plain in as many pubs as possible. Don't blame us if you get the Guinness farts though.

7. Give the cinema a break and head to the theatre

There are so many amazing theatres all over Ireland. Check out the Abbey in Dublin, Lyric Theatre, Belfast,An Griann Theatre, Donegal and Town Hall Theatre, Galway are just a few to head to.

8. Run the Flora mini- Marathon

Training together will make it much easier to stay motivated. The marathon is only 10km and as it's to raise money for charity it's for a great cause. Get your butts in gear, ladies.

9. Go sky-diving together

Now, this one is definitely not for the faint-hearted. If you're abroad on a J1 together this is an absolute must-do. It can be done in Ireland but it's super expensive as well as cold. We recommend somewhere with a warmer climate like Eastern Europe or the West Coast in the States.

10. Go surfing

The west of Ireland has some of the best surf in the world and has attracted surfers from all over the globe. If you've done it before or even if you're a noob, you'll be guaranteed to have an amazing time.

11. Make a mini-brunch bucket list

A bucket list inside a bucket list, make it your mission to try as many new places as possible. Once a week, head out with your besto and see how many Instagram-worthy snaps you can get.

This weeks Snapchatter is Paul from Kildare who is famous for creating the artistic chick series - If you don't know what that is then you need to check it out. Paul takes a celebrity each week and paints them as chicks and it's as brilliant as you can imagine.

Paul kindly answered 31 of our pressing questions and didn't hold back:

1. Why did you decide to start Snapchatting?

I really can't remember why I started to snap. I probably knew a few people atthetime who encouraged me to do it to get my art out there. I wasn't counting on people liking my personality so I just definitely wasn't doing it to be a Snapchatterand to be honest I don't think there wasSnapchatters back then, certainly very few used it as a way of daily vlogging.

2. What're three things youd love to banish forever?

I'd love to banish avocados. I'm always challenged on this. I can't stand them and far too many people love them. I honestly think people have been brainwashed into liking them somehow. I'd also banish people who buy 57 items in Penneys, or at least have a queue for only a few items Penneys. I'd banish wasps, like I'm sure they provide something totheworld but their attitude stinks.

3. Who needs to make a comeback?

This is probablythemost random answer you'll receive but I'm a huge Corrie fan and I'd LOVE if Karen McDonald made a comeback! She was amazing!

4. Ketchup Or Mayo?

Ketchup.

5. Whats your favourite book of all time?

I read a book once fromtheschool library for an English project. It was SO good! It was a ghost story set in England.Thelibrary was burnt down and I could never rememberthename ofthebook.

6. Whos your favourite Irish president of all time?

Mary Robinson. Beingthefirst female president in 1990s Ireland was huge. Also, all her work fortheUnited Nations and human rights and fighting racism is amazing.

7. Have you ever watched Ru Paul's Drag Race?

Love Ru Paul's Drag Race. It's Gas! I actually painted Ru Paul before and some previous contestants and winners.

8. What song could you win a lip sync battle with?

Any Celine Dion song to be quite honest (I'm fun at parties - honestly, I am).

9.The Breakfast CluborMean Girls?

Mean Girls. I've never seenTheBreakfast Club but I'm always trying to watch classics so I'll watch that!

10.Whats the worst job youve ever had?

I don't want to say whatthejob was in case someone I worked with reads this, but it was really stressful because I suffered terribly with anxiety atthetime but I lovedthepeople there.

11.Whats the best thing about Ireland?

TheIrish sense of humour - I think it's fantastic. We'll make a joke out oftheworst situations and I think that's such a strength.

12. Whats the worst?

I think we fear other people's begrudgery. I know so many people who don't follow their goals because they're afraid of what Mary downtheroad might see them do on Facebook.

13. Whats one thing people take for granted?

I think people take their mental health for granted. Once you suffer from some form of mental health issues after not having any, you realise what it is to feel good I think.

14. Do you believe in the paranormal?

I might sound a bit crazy but I've heard some many mad stories from friends and people I've never heard a word of a lie from in my life. Even my mam manages to have something happen to her every time she goes tothelocal church.

16. What cause is important to you?

RepealThe8th. I've 4 sisters, 4 nieces, and most of my cousins and friends are women. It's crazy to think they don't have certain freedoms over their own bodies.

17. If you could relive any moment in your life what would it be?

I'd relivetheday I wore a runner and a shoe to secondary school accidentally. I was standing attheradiator waiting forthefirst class when I realised. I didn't have a phone on me so I tried to hide it as long as I could and made it tomy third class before my friend noticed and screamed: "PAUL'S WEARING TWO ODD SHOES!" People came to point and laugh, literally pointing and laughing. So I'd relive that day to NOT wear odd shoes.

19. Whos your favourite Snapchatter?

That's difficult. I have a few Snapchat faves: Germaguire and Jen_hatton, Ktktoo, Cunninghamlaura has such a good sense of humour too. Oh, and CarolineKay117 love her positivity.

20. What makes you proud to be Irish?

I love that for such a small country we've made such a huge impact ontheworld.

21. Halloween or Christmas?

Halloween! I could write an essay onthereasons I love Halloween. I love anything spooky anyway but I just lovethefeeling of Halloween. It takes on a life of its own. I go all out with decorations.Thepeople intheshops ask me am I having a party when I go Halloween shopping.

22. One thing about you not many people know?

People might not know that as well as being an artist, I write children's stories. I'm not published but I hope to be soon. I have been writing for years.

23. Whats your favourite cheese?

Parmesan is my favourite cheese. My friend used to joke about how many spoons of it I'd like in my tea.

25. What advice would you give your teenage self?

I'd tell teenage me, to be me. People like me for me and it took me years to realise that. Actually, it took SNAPCHAT to make me realise that. I never knew people would just follow me for being me. It was such a nice thing to realise people just liked you. I didn't like drawing attention to myself and now I'm so much more confident.

I'd invite Marilyn Monroe because she fascinates me, Andy Warhol to pick his brain about art and tips, one ofthegirls from Fatima to find outthethird secret *laughs*. Cleopatra, just because, and Barack Obama!

29. What's one thing you cant stand about Snapchat?

Something I can't stand about Snapchat is when people think they can say anything to you because "you put yourself out there." - their words.

30. Whats the best thing about Snapchat?

My favourite thing about Snapchat is how many friends I've met through it, solid friendships. I love that I can just talk and be myself, I love how it's given metheconfidence I lacked for so many years. It's such a great platform to get yourself out there.

31. What's next for Paul?

Continuing to get my "Artistic Chicks" out there and growthename in Ireland and build a brand and publishing my children's stories.

Celebrating our feline friends is becoming a popular trend. Don't believe us? Well, a new cat caf has opened in Dublin that allows you to sit and chill with kittens for an hour at a time.

Now, the Cat Fair is coming to Ireland and it's set to make your cat obsessed friends even more excited. The Cat Fair will take place at the Wynn's Hotel, Dublin on November 19th. The fair will host a number of guest speakers who will be chatting all things neutering, catnip and cat happiness.

Experts that will be speaking at the event include cat behavioural therapistAlice Chau-Ginguene, vetAoife Caulfield and owner of an Irish catnip farm Aideen Day.

Sadly, if you're expecting to be surrounded by millions of cats, they are not allowed at the event for health and safety reasons.

4. Finnlough Forest, Enniskillen

Finnlough Forest hosts aone night sleep that you and your friends need won't forget. Known as the Bubble Domes, the outdoor sleeping pods have crystal clear ceilings where you can star gaze all night long.

5. Dunmore East, Waterford

The Waterford village is home to stunning views of the Irish coast and isn't far from Waterford City. Take a detour here after you visit Loftus Hall.

6. Allihies, West Cork

Often considered one of the quaintest villages in Ireland, Allihies is the perfect overnight stay for anyone doing the Wild Atlantic Way.

7. Slane Castle, Meath

The town of Slane is central to Newgrange, Newgrange farm and other historical monuments nestled in the Boyne Valley of Meath. The most iconic venue in Slane is Slane Castle itself. Take a stroll across the idyllic castle grounds.

8. Mullaghmore, Sligo

Last night the second weekendof live shows began with the theme Viva Latina. Latin music is massive right now and with songs like Despacito, Mi Gente and Sbeme La Radio, Cowell and Co thought they'd hit the jackpot. Simon Cowell returned after being off sick for a week, much to the delight of Sharon, but even his presence was not enough to keep viewers happy.

Twitter felt Leon Mallet, in particular, didn't deliver with his Latina version of Pharrell's 'Get Lucky' with Leon evenrevealing he wasn't comfortable with the song choice as he felt it wasn't very Latin:

It quickly became clear that the X Factor was turning non-Latin songs into Latin songs which didn't really work.

Dermot caused a bit of controversy with his Irish joke when he chatted to Irish twins Sean and Conor. Twitter wasn't a massive fan of their Sia latin rap mash-up either:

 

Nicole's song and dance between each act quickly got on everyone's nerves:

Louis Walsh told The Cutkelvins, Simon Cowell's group, that their Latin song wasn't that well known in the UK. Well, it is, and it was by former X Factor winners Little Mix.

The strangest part of the night came when the X Factor revealed viewers could win a jeep and not just any jeep, Louis Walsh's car.

The show proves once again that the public always gets it right as Leon is sent home over thatpoor choice of song:

 

Everyone could agree on two things though: Previous Britains Got Talent contestant Tokio Myers performance was incredible and Rak-Su should win:

Is pronounced Deer-muid. You could say Dermot but that's offensive.

It's not Breege, it's BRE-D.

No, it's not Africa, it's AF-RICK.

It really amps up the shock factor.

8) Old Romances

Their boyfriend or girlfriend is still back in the country, still living at home, working on the farm or in the local town, hating life, resenting the life their other half has in the big smoke, what with all the bars and shops and Coppers. Deep down, they fear that the end of the relationship is imminent because the choice up in Dublin is far bigger and better and prettier. Better cling on for dear life so.

7) Old Friends/ Foes

They'll be the centre of attention for the people who've never left the county and claim to get a nosebleed as they cross the Shannon. The culchie will relish all of the attention, as they tell tales of how there's places up there where you can eat, drink and go clubbing, ALL IN THE ONE SPOT. This audience will shake their heads in disbelief and say they really must go up and see what all of the fuss is about. They won't be doing that. What they will do however, is judge every word that comes out of your mouth. They'll get you to say shit such as "round about the round about" and when your accent hasn't changed as they'd hoped it would, they'll get pissed off and walk away. Off with them.

6) Mass

We've had to listen to our sophisticated city cousins tell us how they only go to mass when Granny comes to visit, whilst we've had to go every single fucking weekend because the slandering you'll get from Granny (she probably lives with you) just isn't worth the hassle. "Oh, so you're a pagan now are you? Dublin has turned you into a pagan. What next? You'll come home with one of those face tattoos or something. God almighty."

5) The Farm

It's half eleven and you're fast asleep, when suddenly your father rings you, shouting down the phone because it's a touch-screen and he's not quite sure how it works, so the louder he shouts then the better chance he reckons you have of hearing him. Incorrect Papa. He's just reminding you that you'd "better notbe off out on the town" this weekend because there's work to be done. Great. Can't wait to be knee deep in cow feces.

4) The Feed

You'll be told that you've lost weight since last Sunday, so now sit down and eat five potions of the dinner that took me sevenhours to make. In fairness having an actual hot dinner makes the journey all worth it. Then, before you head back you'll stock up your suitcase with tins of peas and bags of spuds, neither of which will be cooked. Unless Mammy comes to visit. Which she won't.

3)Laundry

In case you're wondering what in the name of God one could need a suitcase for when it's just a weekend visit, then one word will explain it all. Laundry. I've met many people in college who are incapable of turning on a washing machine. Learning how to do this would be the obvious thing to do, you would think. Oh no no. Why not just lug half a tonnes worth of crusty jeans back and forth to Ballymacnowhere. That makes far more sense in the long run.

2) A Few Social Ones

It's almost like running a marathon and then going for a walk to the shop. There is no choice, no decisions to be made about where to go. You'll enjoy drinking in the same pub you got hammeredin for the first time and afterwards you may even go for a nostalgic shift and drift with the local playaaaaa(dickhead). There's a kind of comfort in dancing to the same playlist that did the rounds back in 2008 with your primary school friends. You'll speak someintelligent witty banterto half the town and wait in Supermacs until four o'clock for the taxi bus home. Then, the next morning you'll thank god you got out of the shithole. Until the next weekend.

1)The Big Match

Two studies have revealed that people empathizewith a struggling dog more so than their human counterparts.

A Medical research charity called Harrisons Fund found that people were more likely to donate money to help dogs rather than humans.

In a social experiment, they printed out two posters which posed the question:Would you give 5 to save Harrison from a slow, painful death?One poster featured Harrison, a little boy, and the other as Harrison the dog.Harrison the dog received the most donations.

The second study highlighted that people are prone to think of their dog as part of their human family. Researchers from Northeastern University in Boston gave 240 people one of four fake newspaper reports. The articles included stories about an attack by an unknown assailant with a baseball bat and it described how the victim had been found by police with multipleinjuries, unconscious and with a broken leg.

In each case the victim was different. The victim was either a child, 30-year-old adult, a puppy or a six-year-old dog.Of course, participants revealed that they felt stronger levels of empathy for the child, dog or puppy than the adult human.

The researchers believe that we see dogs as helpless and not able to take care of themselves. Writing in the Journal for Society & Animals the researchers stated:

Respondents were significantly less distressed when adult humans were victimised, in comparison with human babies, puppies, and adult dogs. Only relative to the infant victim did the adult dog receive lower scores of empathy...Subjects did not view their dogs as animals, but rather as fur babies, or family members alongside human children.

Well, it looks like the truth is finally out there - We love dogs more than we love ourselves but is anyone surprised?

Bananas are one of your five and they're also a great source of potassium. So next time you're ordering dessert at a restaurant ask for a double helping.

6) Wine

An obvious choice, wine is the process by which French people make grapes even more nutritious than before. Just don't overdo it, you don't want to get toohealthy *wink wink*.

7) Hawaiian

We all know that pizza is a vegetable, since it was declared as such by US Congress in 2011. The tomato paste used in the recipe is what tips it over the scale from being junk food to essential food group. For added benefit get a Hawaiian those dried up chunks of fruit will stand to you in the long term.

8) Poitn

Made from spuds of course. You might have to drink quite a bit of this to count towards your 5 a day but I've heard it's very mild, so slug away. Downside is it can be a bit on the pricy side and hard to obtain.

Irish students and people in their twenties have been moving and working in Canada for decades. Now Canada has released over 10,700 new work permits for young Irish citizens.

They will be available from tomorrow night for young Irish people aged between 18 and 35 and will be split into three categories: Working Holiday permits (7,700),Young Professionals permits (2,500), and International 'Co-Op' permits (500) for those who have been granted an internship.

Almost 30,000 people have moved from Ireland to Canada since 2011, and some research has indicated that Canada is where Irish emigrants find the greatest degree of happiness.

The work permits will be available on the night of the 4th of November.

The Manson murders were masterminded by Charles Manson, a cultleader who led what became known as theManson Family, a quasi-communethat arose in California in the late 1960s.

Manson's followers committed a series of nine murders at four locations in July and August 1969. The most notable murder in the spree was that of actress Sharon Tate (then wife of director Roman Polanski) and it is believed that the film will focus on her role in the murders.

According to Deadline the film isn't going to stick vehemently to the facts when exploring the 1969 killing spree:

...there has been a lot of press that the script focuses on Charles Manson and the murder spree he orchestrated, but Im told that is akin to callingInglourious Basterdsa movie about Adolf Hitler when the Nazi leader was only in a scene or two.

Rumours have it that Leonardo DiCaprio as well as Tarantino regulars Samuel Jackson and Brad Pitt are being lined up for roles in the upcoming film. Margot Robbie is also reportedly being lined up to play Sharon Tate.

Tarantino is searching for a producer for the film at the moment with the script in its final stages.

One producer that will definitely be out of the running for the film is Harvey Weinstein. Tarantino had worked with Weinstein in all his productions thus far and Tarantino has spoken about his regret about what unfolded, saying "I knew enough to do more than I did".
