Is It Over? Signs Your College Relationship Is Going Down the Drain

We get it. Your love has already beaten all the odds. You've survived semester breaks and exam time but lately you're just not feeling the same spark. What's worse is, they still might be but you can't find out because neither of you are talking about it.

1. No time for cuddles.

Your 9 am Friday morning lecture is more appealing than spending a few extra minutes in bed with them. Last night's antics are still reeling around your head. And not in a good way. In an icky 'I hate myself' way.

2. Increased work hours.

You book more hours at your part-time job. A job that you do not love. Are you really trying to save up money? Or are you avoiding someone? You also suddenly start spending way more time studying than you used to. So you're never around to just hang out with them.

3. Ignoring them.

Your phone goes off and it's yet another message from your not-so-special someone and you can't even think of a reply. The message goes unanswered until they spend about five more asking where you are and what's up. As well as poking you on Facebook and sending messages there as well. Their clinginess is tiring. You wish they'd let go.

4. They are so boring.

When you do answer your phone the conversation is absolutely pointless. You have zero interest in their life or anything they have to say. Watching a bug fly around your room is way more interesting than listening to them recount their day.

5. Something has changed.

The stuff that you found cute at the beginning are the most annoying thing about them. You can no longer get through a conversation with them without rolling your eyes at least twice. Playful teasing has turned into full-blown insulting. And you're not even sorry.

6. A third party has emerged.

That cute guy/girl in that lecture class has started returning flirty stares with you. You no longer feel guilty about it. Now all you feel is turned on, something that you haven't been feeling around your boy/girlfriend in a long time.

7. You fight over EVERYTHING.

They didn't bring their mug to the sink. They left the toilet seat up. They knocked a glass of water over your already dirty pile of laundry. They are the worst.

8. You don't care how they see you.

You don't dress up for them, but you do dress up for class or a night out with your friends. You pretend to be one of the single ones and scope the crowd. Hey, you're not married.

9. Your friends know.

You fill up all your free time with your friends. They keep asking what's up with you guys but you can't even begin to explain. Everyone knows something's wrong but you're both in denial.

10. You're just going through the motions.

You're relationship is on auto-pilot. There is no spontaneity anymore. No more surprise dates or thoughtful presents or exciting sex. You don't care anymore. It's over for you. Let them know.
