24 Famous Irish People That Went To Your College

You may look back on your college as a place where day-drinking was had and exams were crammed for, however what you may not know is some famous Irish people went there too.

There are plenty of well-known Irish people that actually attended your college that you may not know about it. That's where we come in. We've gathered up some of Ireland's most famous faces and perfectly plonked them into their previous life at college.

DCU has produced TV presenter Laura Whitmore, comedian Ardal O'Hanlon and actress Caroline Morahan.

3. Trinity

Game of Thrones star Jack Gleeson is a Trinity alumni, actress Ruth Negga has also attended, singer/actress Courtney Love, presenter Hector, Mrs.Doyle (Pauline McLynn), singer Hozier, presenter Ray D'arcy, ex-president Mary Robinson as well as another ex-president Mary McAleese.

4. DIT

Actor Domhnall Gleeson studied in DIT,  broadcaster George Hook, presenter Vogue Williams (who studied quantity surveying) and fashion designer Darren Kennedy.

5. UL

Rugby legend Paul O'Connell is a past student of UL, as well as Irish dancer Jean Butler, and another Irish dancer Breandán de Gallaí.

6. UCC

Hugely famous actor Cillian Murphy was in UCC, chat-show host Graham Norton, poet Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill and stand-up comedian Des Bishop.

7. NUIG

The greatest man on earth Michael D. Higgins once studied at the Galway University, TV presenter Gráinne Seoige, and current Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
