Fans React To Love Islanders Labelling Them As A 'Poundland Version' Of Last Year

On Monday evening the Love Island contestants for the year's season were revealed. We were delighted to see that there was an Irish Love Islander in the mix this year. Yewande Biala is a 23 year old Scientist from Dublin. Yewande graduated with a first class honours in Biotechnology from the Athlone Institute of Technology. She will be the only Love Island contestant hailing from outside the UK. Fans reaction to Love Island has been predictable, as with every year, the lineup was met with criticism.
Fans have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions, describing this year's Love Island cast is a "Poundland version" of the previous year.

Fans drew a number of similarities between the 2018 and 2019 cast. Amy Hart the blonde Air Hostess, fans felt was very similar to last year's blonde Air Hostess, Laura Anderson. Producers can be accused of sticking to the same formula when picking candidates for the show and subsequently lacking a diverse cast. This year they have included a "plus-size" contestant, Anna Vakili. Twitter users were also quick to point out that the producers' idea of what a "plus-size" woman is, is clearly distorted. It's clear from the images that Anna has had lip fillers and other surgical enhancements. A real let down for girls that hope to see more women that look them on the prime time television.
The producers of Love Island think this slim woman counts as their new token “plus size” contestant? Are they drunk? pic.twitter.com/sam4AqzzQw
