Spoiler: A Popular Game Of Thrones Character Is Returning In 2019

After a year of waiting for the return of Westeros, the creators of the show are promising the return of one character we haven't seen since season seven. Remaining with Sansa at Winterfell, Ghost, Jon Snow's trusted direwolf, will return to play a key role in the final season after missing season 8.

Visual effects supervisor Joe Bauer, told Huffington Post, that Ghost will be involved in some key moments for the final series of the hit show:

Oh, you'll see him again. He has a fair amount of screen time in season 8. He does show up. Ghost does show up, and he does some... he's very present and does some pretty cool things in season 8.

It turns out the direwolves are one of the more difficult creatures to visually master on film:

The direwolves are tough because you don't want to get them wrong, so we end up always shooting real wolves and doing a scaling trick with them, but the real wolves only behave in certain ways. I think that has something to do with why the direwolves are in the show but they're not maybe as integral as they are in the books.

Our guess is Ghost will return joined by Nymeria, Arya Starks dire wolf, to help defend Winterfell from the hoards of white walkers but that's just another fan theory.

The final six episodes of Game Of Thrones will air in 2019.
