Here's Who Barry Keoghan Is Playing In The Batman

The full cast list for the upcoming Batman film dropped alongside the trailer over the weekend, and there are a couple of Irish stars involved.

The first day of the DC Fandome took place revealing some spectacular footage and trailers from a number of upcoming projects.

The event, aimed at fans of DC Comics, features online panels, cosplay, fan art and comics, as well as special events for kids. The devoted DC fandom will be especially excited for looks at some long-awaited DC properties.

'The Batman'

A teaser for Matt Reeves' upcoming film, 'The Batman', was amongst the trailers that were released during the event, despite only 30 percent of the movie being shot at this point.

It was confirmed that Colin Farrell is playing Penguin and he is unrecognisable in the trailer. But he's not the only Irishman to feature in the film. It was also revealed that Barry Keoghan is included in the billing.

Keoghan is known for his roles in Love/Hate, The Killing of a Sacred Deer and Dunkirk.

Who is Barry Keoghan playing in 'The Batman'?

Barry Keoghan will play Officer Stanley Merkel in the upcoming superhero flick. In the comics, Merkel was Commissioner James Gordon's first partner.

Keoghan will be joining other cast members that include Robert Pattinson, Zoƫ Kravitz, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, and Andy Serkis.

With another role in the upcoming Marvel film The Eternals, Keoghan joins a very exclusive group of actors that have landed gigs with both DC and Marvel.

'The Batman' is set to hit cinemas on October 1, 2021.
