Mumford & Sons Have Announced An Outdoor Irish Gig This Summer

Mumford & Sons have announced an outdoor gig in Malahide Castle on June 14th. This Malahide date will be part of their Gentlemen of the Road Takeover tour. Joining the British folk-rock group will an outstanding line up of support acts, Norway’s enchanting AURORA, and Irish talent Dermot Kennedy and Wild Youth.

This latest announcement is one more to at to the list of fantastic performers scheduled for Malahide Castle in June. Irish rockers Snow Patrol play at the venue on Friday, June 7. This will be directly followed by goth rock legends The Cure taking to the stage for a sellout show on June 9th. George Ezra will play the venue on Friday, June 21, followed by US songstress Lana Del Rey on June 22.

The Gentlemen of the Road was founded by Mumford & Sons in 2009. The tour brings together a community of like-minded acts. The Gentlemen of the Road supports global charities that resonate with the bands and aims to do what it can to protect the planet. A very worthwhile cause.

Mumford and Sons latest album 'Delta' was released November of last year a three year gap from their previous album. The band described the sound of the latest studio album as "widely experimental" replacing the banjos they had become known for with a more acoustic sound. There lead single Guiding Light was met with mixed reviews. You can be sure of one thing with Mumford & Sons, they will be sure to put on energetic live performance with a mix of old and new tracks. Mumford & Sons will also headline All Points East festival in London.

Ticket for this gig will be €69.75 including booking fees go on sale Friday 1st March at 9 am.
