One Of Netflix's Best Shows Has Been Renewed For Another Season

With the fifth season of BoJack Horseman having been released just over a month ago, on September 14, it has garnered yet more rave reviews for a show that has cemented itself as one of the most critically lauded programmes being made.

The deftness with which the show deals with important social issues, particularly mental health and, most recently, the complexity of patriarchal power dynamics and abuses of this power, are perhaps its most noteworthy asset. It is a scintillating, profoundly stupid and wonderfully astute comedy that is acidicly and acerbically bleak as it is hilarious.

Given its ongoing success, it comes as now surprise that Netflix have announced that it has ordered a sixth season of the show.

The programme centers on the adventures of the eponymous character, an initially washed up actor, bitterly pining for the return of the fame and success - but really his own youth - afforded to him for starring in a '90s sitcom, Horsin' Around. Over the five seasons his career is resuscitated through while he himself remains stagnant, his own depressive and self-destructive tendencies wreaking havoc both on himself and on the lives of the excellent cast of ensemble characters, whose individual stories steadily grow, deviating and developing into their own cogent arcs.

It is an astounding programme that is well worth checking out.
