Lads, Remember Charlotte Church? We Found Out What Happened To Her!
On one hand, most kids would've said they wanted to be their favorite superhero, Buffy the Vampire Slater or a dragon as they were growing up. On the other hand, I wanted to be Charlotte Church. Whatever it was about Charlotte I just couldn't get enough. I thought she was the shit. We're happy to tell you Ms. Church is still going strong.
For those of you who don't know or can't remember, Charlotte is a classically trained soprano singer and was a child prodigy selling more than 10 million records. The press gave her a difficult time as she got older and they were obsessed with her being a normal adolescent who liked a bevvy or two.
She released a pop album called Tissues and Issues in 2005 and Back To Scratch in 2010. Two EPs called "One" and "Two" can be found on her Spotify which are like a mix of Queen, Bjork and futuristic Opera. She hosted The Charlotte Church Show which lasted for 3 seasons, sang with Amy Winehouse and proved she was generally a sound and gas Welsh lass.
Charlotte's twitter @charlottechurch shows off her political interests and she's a keen supporter of liberal movements. In one interview she talks wanting to "build a commune on an island" to get away from Brexit and Trump - can we join you?
I have to say I was delighted to discover, and sad cause I missed her Irish date, that Charlotte is touring around Ireland and the UK with an event called "Late Night Pop Dungeon" which looks unreal.
