9 Excuses You Tell Yourself For Skipping The Gym

The gym is packed full of people who don't want to be there. January is peak time for gyms with all the New Year resolutions kicking in but as soon as February comes they disappear like a fart in the wind. Here are the top 9 excuses you tell yourself for skipping the gym. Sound familiar?

9) "If I go now it will be really crowded."

The oldest excuse in the book. It's not really an excuse though. Just because your workout will most likely take an extra 30 minutes, you shouldn't really let yourself off that lightly.

8) "I just sneezed 2 times. I might be getting sick."

At the mere sniffle of a nostril or cough in a throat, the hypochondriac gym-goers will trick themselves into believing that they are actually falling ill, just to make themselves feel better for not going to the gym.

7) "I'll probably be tired all day if I go to the gym before work."

Oho that old chestnut! Not an early morning person? It's thought that morning people are far more successful than those late sleepers, so get up and get going. Rise with the sun, and make a change.

6) "I'm still a little sore from yesterday."

Sore? This isn't a word in The Rock's vocabulary. Pain is good, that means your exercises are working so don't stop now or the results won't come!

5) "Oh, it's leg day today..."

Okay, possibly the number one excuse why people skip the gym. Leg day is by far the roughest of all days, and its extremely obvious to point out who recently underwent a vicious leg day. Most notably by them limping and hobbling along slowly, and walking like John Wayne. Just think: GAINS.

4)"I haven't eaten enough food to go workout today."

When is there ever not time to eat food? Never. Anybody can stuff their face, carbo-load and get down to the gym. This is not a valid excuse. Although don't try going for a heavy workout without any food in your tummy - that is a bad idea! Trust me.

3) "I'm going out tonight so I best relax beforehand and save my energy."

You're going out at 9pm tonight and it'c currently 9am. A solid 12 hour gap there but you insist on "resting" for the long night of drinking you have ahead.

2) "I didn't sleep well last night."

Oh, bags under your eyes. Didn't get your solid 8 hours either? Better give it a miss today so. That's 14 days in a row now...

1) "I'll just go in the morning..."

And you never do. Gym procrastination at its absolute finest. You know who you are.
