Meteor Choice Music Prize Nominees – Villagers

Vote now for Meteor Irish song of the Year
Over the next month or so I'll be giving you two handfuls of quirky reasons as to why each of the nominees for the METEOR CHOICE MUSIC PRIZE SONG OF THE YEAR should be getting your vote. Next on the list of nominees are Villagers.
You can vote for Villagers 'Nothing Arrived' to be song of the year by clicking on the above link. But first here are our reasons why you need to consider giving them your vote to pick up the prize on February 27th...
Because...could this win song of the year?
Because Villagers' debut album "Becoming a Jackal" was nominated for both The Mercury Prize 2010 and The Choice Music Award 2010...
Because they were nominated for their second mercury prize in 2013...
Because upon release "Becoming a Jackal" immediately went to number one on both the Irish Albums Chart and the Irish Indie Albums Chart...
They were involved in efforts to raise funds in the aftermath of the 2010 Haiti earthquake...
Because their debut EP "Hollow Kind" brought comparisons with Bright Eyes and Sparklehorse...
Because Conor likes standing places...
And because collectively the lads look really good standing places...
Because you can follow them on twitter below....
