Update: Student Injured Outside Copper Face Jacks Nightclub, Video Has Emerged.

According to reports, over 1,500 people were trapped outside popular Dublin nightclub Copper Face Jacks last night in what onlookers are calling a significant crowd crush.

Garda have said that seven people suffered injuries in the incident, with four of them being taken to hospital by ambulance. One of those, a 18 year old woman, is said to be in a critical condition in hospital in St. James' Hospital.

Owner of the the Dublin nightclub, Cathal Jackson, was quoted as saying. “I’m aware of it. I was there last night. I arrived at ten to twelve... I arrived near the end of [the incident].... It was a big congregation, a big surge of people around the corner, but in the last 20 minutes, he has come out and said that the woman in question is 'okay and speaking'.

The incident is said to have been caused by a large influx of revellers keen to visit the establishment for the first ever time, as they ran a promotion called 'Messy Monday's', their first ever over 18's event at the club.

“It was the first time we actually had an over 18s specifically on a Monday night, it’s over 19s on a Tuesday,” said Jackson.

Usually the club run a strict  age policy, but last night, with 3.50 drinks being offered, and a first time lift on the age restrictions, thousands showed up.
