Sure Fire Methods of Procrastination

With exam season (or summer as non-students have come to know it, lucky bastards!) just about upon us, you probably have plenty of "study" to do and have been given many free hours over the next couple of weeks to do just that. But like me and any other student that has walked the face of the earth, you probably want to do anything but study. So here are a few sure fire methods of procrastination to bring you up to the night before the exam when you're actually going to start studying.

Take up a new hobby

Yes you can take up so much time with one of these and there are so many to choose from; whether it's learning to play an instrument, taking up a new sport, or even just putting together IKEA furniture, the list goes on. It doesn't really matter as long as it seems like you're actually busy.

Work on your tan

Women have been getting away with this one for the last number of years but lately the male species are following suit. You can waste hours just lying down outside under the sun and make it seem like you are actually doing something, although we really know you're not. However, given the country that we live in, you're more likely to get the flu or even frostbite than beautiful bronze skin. Still an option though!

Get in shape for summer

Yes, even exercise is a better alternative to studying. Join a gym, lift some weights, go for a run, or even just stare at yourself in the mirror tensing for a few hours and taking the odd selfie, whatever! Anything is better than studying and you might even have fun doing it, considering the alternative. Plus they say exercise gets the brain juices flowing so y'know, that's a plus.

Box-sets

We've all gone on a box-set binge now and again, courtesy of Netflix. Watch whatever tickles your fancy; Game of Thrones, Suits, House of Cards, the choices are endless and your bound to find one you like. And even if you don't just watch it till the end, it's still better than studying.

Part-time job

If you already have a job, try and get more hours or even get an extra job. If you don't, apply for as many as possible and even if you don't get hired at least you'll have wasted time going to a load of interviews. There is the added bonus of making more money; never a bad thing.

Social media

This is surely what it was invented for? Your choices are really endless here and you're bound to find one that can help you pass the time be it Twitter, Reddit or the ever reliable Facebook. Or you could just use them all and draw out a schedule. More time can be taken up making the schedule.
