Video: The Full Trailer For Trainspotting 2 Is Finally Here

Trainspotting is getting a sequel after 20 years with, naturally enough, Transporting 2. Danny Boyle returns to direct the black comedy that requites the old cast in dreary Glasgow after over two decades apart.

The trailer features an updated version of the iconic 'Choose life' mantra that better reflects the dismal reality of the 2010s

“Choose life
Choose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and hope that someone, somewhere cares
Choose looking up old flames, wishing you’d done it all differently
And choose watching history repeat itself
Choose your future
Choose reality TV, slut shaming, revenge porn
Choose a zero hour contract, a two hour journey to work
And choose the same for your kids, only worse, and smother the pain with an unknown dose of an unknown drug made in somebody’s kitchen
And then… take a deep breath
You’re an addict, so be addicted
Just be addicted to something else
Choose the ones you love
Choose your future
Choose life”

(Cuts a bit close to the knuckle, doesn't it?).

Twenty years has passed for Mark Renton, played by Ewan McGregor, he finally returns to Glasgow to find that his past is still there, waiting for him.

The original cast returns  for the film based on Irvine's follow up to Transporting, Porno, it promises to be a nihilistic, faintly bleak look at modern life.
