Concern Grows As Body Reportedly Found In Search For UCC Graduate In France

Independent.ie is reporting that a body has been found in the search for missing Irish teacher, Eimear Noonan.

Ms. Noonan, 21, from Clare, has been missing since Wednesday. The UCC graduate has been living in the French town of Annonay where a body has been discovered.

She was first reported missing when she failed to turn up to the school she'd been working at as a teaching assistant on Wednesday.

Local French media have reported that the body of a woman has been discovered near a viaduct in Annonay on Friday.

Joe Cooney, a Fine Gael councillor for Killaloe, where the family are form, told Independent.ie that "I believe they (referring to the Noonan family) do know that (a woman was found dead) but nothing has been confirmed."

The discovered body has yet to be identified and there is nothing definitively linking it Ms. Noonan's disappearance at the time of writing.

Ms. Noonan's family have travelled out to Lyon, the nearest city to Annonay, to assist with the search. They are appealing for any information that anyone may have as to her whereabouts to report it to Gardaí or let them know through social media.

There is hope that the incidents are unrelated and that Ms. Noonan may still be found safe and well.

We will update this story with any more information as we get it.
