BREAKING: Schools May Be Forced To Close Tomorrow Due To Storm Callum

Storm Callum, the third storm of the winter storm season, is set to move over Ireland over the next 24 hours.

An orange wind warning has been issued by Met Éireann for all coastal counties with gusts between 100-130km/h expected.

As concerns grow over the storm an emergency meeting of the National Emergency Coordination Group was called to assess the extent of the damage that could be expected from the storm.

They are concerned that schools in some parts of the country may not be able to open tomorrow due to safety concerns about storm damage.

There is to be a meeting at 3pm of key agencies that will be affected by the storm.

Schools and businesses are being urged to stay up to date on the latest weather forecasts, however it's understood that any closures will be called on a local, rather than on a national, level.

As of yet, no universities have announced that they will be closing.
