Here's What To Expect From The Bank Holiday Weather This Weekend

The bank holiday weekend is only 24 hours away but if you're playing on having a few drinks at the Pav, cracking out the BBQ or hitting the beach you might want to rethink your plans. It looks like we're set for a mixed weekend of showers and sunshine right across the country for this August bank holiday and temperatures are going to drop.

Here's what to expect from your entire bank holiday weekend weather:

Friday

Ulster and Connacht will see frequent showers but the south Leinster coast will be the driest and experience the best conditions. Ranging from 17 - 19c, the highest temperatures will be in Munster and Leinster.

Saturday

Saturday will be quite similar to Friday. According to Met Eireann, Saturday should remain dry for 90% of the day in the south/east. Clouds may block any potential sunshine. Sporting fans can expect dry conditions for both Croke Park and Aviva Stadium. The Galway races is set to experience both sunshine and rain.

Sunday

The worst day of the weekend will be Sunday. The day will start dry and sunny in the east but countrywide showers will mean that any Galway race goers will need to wear a rain coat. Matthew Martin of Met Eireann said to "expect more risk of showers in Galway, wet from the get go". Temperatures are set to be around 14c. Temperatures in the east of the country will range from 16c to 18c.  Some rain is expected for the throw-in at Croke Park as the All-Ireland hurling semi-final takes place between Galway and Tipperary.

Monday

The bank holiday will end on a much cooler note than usual for August but sunshine will return Monday evening.

It looks like you'll need to take full advantage of Friday and Saturday.
