Leaving Cert Students React To The Home Economics Exam
It's that time of the year when LC students have to word vomit everything they know about amino acids, the benefits of vitamin c, home design, the Food Safety Authority, social welfare, and insurance policies.
Although some accuse the subject of being 'a guide to becoming a housewife or stay at home dad', it was everyone's favourite subject for one simple reason: food. Anyone who studied home economics and their friends knew the food was a HUGE benefit in school especially if you chose to master the art of baking or making tacos.
This years paper included questions about the importance of leisure, the role of fashion as an expression of personality, homelessness and the rights of children in today's society.
Unfortunately, some of the students who sat their English paper one had to sit through Home Ec rather than learn passages from King Lear for English paper two tomorrow. Understandably, others just couldn't find the energy:

It seems like Home Ec was a handy number for most students. A few people were screaming about 'lipids' being on the paper:
