Three Irish Universities Are Now Ranked In The Top 1% In The Entire World

Well, who would have known, eh? When we think of universities in the top 1% of the world, we picture places like Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge, but it looks like NUIG's university ranking is added to the list.

According to QS World University Rankings, NUIG has become the 243rd top university in the world. Over the past five years, the university has climbed the ranking and this year was lucky enough to make it into the top 1%. Since 2012, the university has climbed up a whopping 44 places.

Speaking about the news on the NUIG Facebook page, President Jim Browne said “We are on the edge of the Atlantic but our outlook is global. The news today is further acknowledgement of the developments in teaching and research that have taken place at this University in recent years.”

Sure the lads even went as far to make a lovely video showcasing why NUIG is such a great place to study.

There are now three Irish colleges in the top 1%, with Trinity College and UCD both ranking at 88th and 168th. It just goes to show that our universities are world class and employers should be sweating to hire us. Am I right?
