A Former Contestant Of RuPaul's Drag Race Has Been 'Banned' From All Stars

A show like RuPaul's Drag Race might be considered one of the best reality shows of all time but that doesn't come without a price.

Pearl Liaison, real name Matthew James Lent and a contestant from season seven, has gone on to become a successful model and DJ following his appearance on the show but has come under fire from fans of the show and, allegedly its producers, for publicly discussing a moment he shared with RuPaul.

Speaking to Youtube personality Jonny McGovern on his show Hey Qween! on the 15th August, Pearl revealed that when sharing with RuPaul how much he admired her during filming, RuPaul said "nothing you say matters unless the cameras are rolling":

After telling her story on the Youtube chat show, Pearl has been receiving backlash from fans of the show and now claims that a producer from RuPaul's Drag Race called him to inform him he would never appear on a future series of RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars, a show that makes the best drag queens from each season compete against each other for the All Stars crown. In a statement shared on Pearl's Youtube channel, the popular drag queen said:

...to openly punish me for being honest about a situation that happened with me after four years of silence is disgusting and shameful. This narrative about how we drag race contestants owe our lives to RuPaul's Drag Race, that needs to completely change. I'm very sorry to inform you but I'm finally at the place in my life where I'm confident enough to know that I would have been somebody with or without Drag Race.

Fans of the show will remember the tension between Pearl and RuPaul during the iconic scene "do I have something on my face?":
