RSA Calls For Shane Ross Themed Sleigh To Be Removed From Roof Of Car
Transport Minister Shane Ross has come under fire as his face and name features on a sleigh perched on top of a car.
The vehicle has been spotted in locations around the city with passers-by referring to it as 'unsafe' and a 'hazard'. The message on the sleigh reads: 'Happy Christmas Councillor Kevin Daily, working with Shane Ross TD, Like Santa We Deliver'. Both men are wearing Santa hats.
The RSA work closely with each Minister of Transport on issues such as unroadworthy vehicles, speeding and drink driving. According to The Independent, an RSA spokesman said:
We couldn't condone it (the box). It doesn't look secure, it isn't safe and should be removed. It shouldn't be out on the road. It needs to be removed. If the thing is insecure, it could come off in transit and poses a potential risk to drivers and there's a risk of driver distraction.
Councillor Daly insists the contraption is safe and has invited the RSA to inspect it.
