All The Must-Know Deets For This Year's UCD Fashion Show

Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know about the annual UCD Fashion Show, which is one of Europe's largest student fashion shows. If there's only one event on the student calendar you go to this year, it should definitely be this one: it's got fashion, it's for a great cause, and it's honestly just awesome to support your fellow students.

This year over 1,500 people are expected to watch the show at Astra Hall on February 15 and 16 and every ticket sold goes to Jigsaw - The National Centre for Youth Mental Health, which we can all agree needs as much support as they can get to help young people with their mental health across Ireland.

Here's everything you need to know about the 2017 UCD Fashion Show:

The theme

The theme of this year's UCD Fashion Show is revolutionary eras of social change. The designers are using inspirational leaders' speeches to depict specific struggles such as The Suffragette Movement, Black Civil Rights, LGBTQ+ and the Age Of Technology.

Young Designer of The Year Competition

There's also the Young Designer of the Year Competition which showcases the best of young emerging design talent in Ireland today which will be judged by guests Elizabeth McDaid, Designer; Jennifer Byrne, Om Diva Representative; Helen Hayes, Young Designer and Winner UCD Young Designer of the Year 2016 and Eamonn McGill, Designer.

MCs

To top it all off, James Kavanagh is hosting the show on the 15th of February and on the 16th James Patrice Butler is going to take the MC reins.
