More Bad Irish Hostel Reviews That'll Make You Laugh, Cry And Gag

Some people say you get what you pay for with hostels but as many of us have learnt, it often doesn't matter if the place is €10 or €50, it can be riddled with bed bugs and dirty showers all the same. We've come back for more worst Irish hostel reviews and these are hilarious and foul. Enjoy:

Backpackers Citihostel - Dublin

Hostelworld review: "A truly dreadful place...Filthy, a kind of dosshouse...If this dump was inspected by a fire officer it would close"

Oliver St. John Gogarty's - Dublin

TripAdvisor review: "Met by the most miserable guy on reception, filthy room, bathroom stank, we booked a private room only to find a man trying to key open our door..."

Cork International Hostel

TripAdvisor review: "Want to have fun in Cork? Stay somewhere else! It's got an institutional feel that makes you feel like you're in hospital"

Kinlay House - Cork

TripAdvisor review: "Room stinked, filthy sheets, bring your own pillow! The pillows there might as well have been tea bags"

Sheilas - Cork

TripAdvisor review: "Now we have mastered getting up that hill with Kate Bush and by the way if you have suitcases it's impossible. You are met by, well we will ignore that matter, up big stairs no lift to room. Dark dingy lack of sockets no bathroom dirt everywhere. The list goes on and on and on. The place was so skank I reported it to the HSE"

Galway City Hostel

TripAdvisor review: "One chap with a festidiously maintained beard, a clear sign of pettiness, let himself into our dorm without knocking, an extremely uncomfortable intrusion. He later repeatedly intruded on our conversations in the group area, implying that he was listening to us and auditing the content. This is nothing short of an Orwell-esque faciscistic oppression on Galway City Hostel guests and utterly intolerable"

Woodquay Hostel

via TripAdvisor

TripAdvisor review: "Highway to hell - The walls were literally crying. The humidity, coldness and indifference of the room made this wonderful spectacle happen. Only comparable with the Northern Lights"

Sugan Hostel - Kerry

TripAdvisor review: "Rude staff, nasty private bathrooms, bed sheets wouldn't even stay on bed and did not look clean, No hot water (until I was told the trick for hot water after I had my last shower). Bedroom decor resembled Serial Killer Chic!"

Railway Hostel - Killarney

TripAdvisor review: "Traumatic - The "breakfast" is 2 slices of bread with butter or jam that is left in one disgusting plastic container half of one pot to save more, and if you ask for more, the rest is in the same container as a dog's food. Me and the others choked watching the scene!"
