Kylie Jenner Wants To Trademark Her Name & This Celeb Is Not Okay With It

Kylie Jenner. We all know the name. Even if you've been living under a rock or in the far reaches of the Arctic Circle, you've probably have heard it. The 18 year old has hit stratospheric levels of fame in the past few years, really breaking out with her lip kits and website kyliejenner.com. In fact, we don't think the world has ever been quite so obsessed with a teenager.

Capitalising on her fame, Kylie Jenner has decided to copyright the name 'Kylie.' According to Mashable, Jenner has applied for the patent on her name to have it "protected for advertising and endorsement purposes." I mean really...REALLY?! This is as bad as when Taylor Swift tried to copyright '1989.' Everyone just needs to calm down!

Well it turns out that we're not the only ones who think it's a bit insane that Kylie wants to copyright a very commonly used name. Kylie Minogue, the original Kylie (let's be real here), has filed a petition to stop Jenner. Minogue apparently believes that allowing this to happen would dilute her own brand.

She even went as far as throwing some shade on twitter...

We're kind of on the side of Minogue here. While it's indisputable that Kylie Jenner is the more famous of the two now, she really can't go around copyrighting her first name. Think of all the other Kylie's out there!
