Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are a ridiculously gorgeous couple, there's no denying that. The way they look at each other when they walk the red carpet is the stuff dreams are made of.
But we did not know that the story of their first date was basically the plot of a rom-com. Everyone assumed they had met and fallen in love on the set of The Green Lantern. But as it turns out, that was merely the start of their friendship.
Reynolds told the story while speaking to Entertainment Weekly: "I remember it was funny because for about a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and all that stuff, we were both single. We went on a double date with—she was on a date with another guy, and I was on a date with another girl, and that was the most awkward date from their perspective probably because we were just like fireworks coming across. Yeah, it was like this first weird [date]—but we were buddies for a long time. I think it's the best way to have a relationship―to start as friends."
