Break-ups can be messy but what happens if you're Ariana Grande and your boyfriend is a well-known comedian? Awkward jokes are what.
In a promo for Saturday Night Live, which will be hosted by actor Jonah Hill, Pete Davidson - who dated Grande for several months before proposing to her - asks singer Maggie Rogers if she'd like to marry him. The poorly executed joke was followed by deadpan silence and awkward looks from Rogers and Hill:

Grande, who's gearing up for her Sweetener World Tour, wasn't impressed by Davidson's joke and cryptically tweeted that the comedian was trying to stay relevant.
She later retweeted a fan comment which read, "SNL is about to milk their breakup just like they did with the engagement."
