The National Emergency Co-ordination Group have announced that, due to issues brought about by Storm Emma, water restrictions are to be implemented throughout the Greater Dublin Area.
The restrictions will apply 'for the foreseeable future' and will be in place from 7pm to 7am.

Water restrictions are already in place in several other parts of the country. They announced that Dublin water-use has massively increased over the last 24 hours, by some 60 million litres. This extra usage is due to a mixture of legitimate use and inevitable leaks caused by Storm Emma.
As such, these high levels of water use are patently unsustainable, leading to the decision to implement rationing.
