Here Are The Recently Announced TEDxUCD Speakers

TED x UCD makes a return on Friday the 9th of December. TEDx was created to let more people experience the fun of fascinating  TED talks. This year's TEDxUCD's theme is 'contemplation' and has a focus on ideas worth spreading.

The speakers include:

Dearbhla Burke, a PhD student in the UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sport Science, she will be presenting, ‘The Insult Added to Injury’.

Dr Sandra Collins is currently the Director of the National Library of Ireland and will be presenting ‘Memory Keeper’.

Professor Ron Davies, an economics professor in UCD, will talk about ‘The True Trouble of Tax Trickery’.

Dr Susan Delaney, a clinical psychologist, will present,  ‘Grief, it’s Complicated… 10% of the Time.’

Professor Michaela Higgins is a consultant medical oncologist. Her TEDx talk discusses, ‘The Cancer Story You Haven’t Heard.’

Dr Andrew Hogan is involved in the awareness and prevention of child obesity, his talk is entitled ‘Losing Weight – Why is it so Difficult?’

Duncan Lennox, the CEO and co-founder of Q-Stream’s talk title is, ‘The Misunderstood Brain’.

Associate Professor Patricia Maguire is another UCD student, this time studying biochemistry talking about using ‘Tiny Bubbles to Clean up Diseases’.

UCD Irish History Lecturer Conor Mulvagh presents ‘Partition, Where to Draw the Line’.
