Teen Driving Tractor In Derry City Centre Told Police He Was 'Looking For Women'

An 18-year-old provisional license driver who was pulled over by police in Derry city centre claimed he was in using the agricultural vehicle "to see if there were any women about".

The incident occurred just before midnight on August the 16th (which is a Wednesday by the way, would he not have left it until the weekend?).

When accosted by the authorities, Anthony Breslin, from Burnfoot, Co Donegal, admitted to two motoring offences when stopped by police, those offences being driving without 'L' plates and driving without being accompanied by a fully qualified driver. Maybe there was no space in the cab?

A barrister representing Breslin said: “He admitted the offences to the police and told them he was stupid. He also told the police he was using the tractor for social reasons rather than for agricultural reasons.”

Breslin, who was absent from court, is to receive a letter from the Court Services notifying him of his sentencing date in two weeks’ time.

Belfast Live reported that when Breslin was stopped by police, he told them he was “using it for social purposes in that he was driving around the city centre to see if there were any women about”.

Now far be it from me to judge, but if you were indeed on the lookout for women is your vehicle of choice one that is covered in muck and cow shite? Answers on a postcard.
