The Nightmare Realm Returns...And Recruits

The Nightmare Realm returns this Halloween and it's coming to Dublin for the first time! If you haven't already been a  victim of the truly terrifying stuff of nightmares, it's basically a big scare house famed for its special effects and horror themes. You walk through this haunted realm while all types of creatures prey on you.  Now it's not one for the faint-hearted, but I myself have lived to tell the tale! This year they have 80 jobs up for grabs for the month of October, though you must be over 16 to audition. Open auditions are taking place in the RDS Dublin from 6pm-8pm Thursday 18th August and 3pm-5pm Saturday Septemeber 3rd. Also in the Albert Quay Cork from 4pm-5pm on Saturday 20th August and 6pm-8pm Thursday 8th September.

If you've ever aspired to be part of the walking dead and get a kick out of scaring people well you, my creepy friend are the kind of weird and wonderful person that The Nightmare Realm is looking for. Previous acting experience isn't required, just turn up with something sick, twisted and scary prepared and release your inner monster. You can even bring a partner as a double-act! The live horror experience has carved out a notorious reputation for testing the limits of sanity and crafting the artistry of fear to capture the depths of your imagination. Basically, if you can do grotesque, blood curdling and can make Alcatraz look like a crèche, then they want you!

Of course, to create the creatures of the night they also need make-up masters of horror! The Nightmare Realm are also holding auditions for talented make-up artists at the RDS Dublin on Saturday 3rd September from 6-7.30 pm and at The Nightmare Realm Albert Quay Cork on Saturday 20th August from 6-7.30pm. You will get one one hour to impress the judges with your special-effects talents. You must be experienced with prosthetic appliances  and bring your own model, tools and makeup. And if previous Nightmare Realms are anything to go by, the sick make-up and special effects by artists is a super way to showcase your talents if that's your forte.
