Buying Christmas decorations can be expensive, and as we all know students are broke 99% of the time. So with that in mind, we decided to be creative and use household items from around your student accommodation to give it some Christmas cheer.

1. Carlsberg Christmas wreath

Have a leftover crate of Carlsberg? Well now you can make a Christmas wreath! The green colour will look super festive, all you have to do is cut it into a wreath shape and hang it on your door – fab.

2. Can Christmas tree

Gather up those cans you found on the floor and turn them into something spectacular. Arranging them with a bit of sellotape and you'll have a tree your Mammy can be proud of.

3. Toilet paper tinsel

Grabbing some toilet paper and draping it around the place will be as close to tinsel as you can probably get.

4. Haribo Christmas tree decorations

Grab a few packs of Haribo Starmix and use the keys to drape on your home made Christmas tree – magnificent.

5. Christmas dinner

As an added bonus, chicken fillet rolls neatly wrapped in paper will suffice as a fantastic alternative to the turkey and stuffing you'll have on Christmas day.

6. Beer bottle mini Christmas trees

Grab some empty beer bottles, snip off a piece of a tree outside, plonk it in the bottle and you have yourself a fabulous mini-Christmas tree.

7. Finally... a Christmas tree angel

Grab some toilet paper rolls, glue and glitter and you can make an extravagant topping for your homemade tree.
