Lewis Capaldi Got Slagged By Noel Gallagher And Was Delighted

Noel Gallagher is a great one for slagging people. The former Oasis man has a new EP out with the High Flying Birds, so that means lots of press junkets and quality lines.

He once said Nigel Farage wouldn't be capable of running a corner shop, never mind a country. Mark Ronson should write his own tunes instead of ruining other people's songs. Jack White apparently looks like Zorro on doughnuts. His brother is the world's angriest man. Rather poetically, Noel said Liam was "a man with a fork in a world of soup".

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds headlined the Isle of Wight festival, and while being interviewed, turned his attention to Lewis Capaldi, and the state of music in 2019. In an interview with Radio X he said "Music is fucking wank at the moment. Who's this Capaldi fella? Who the fuck's that idiot?"

Lewis, in fairness to him, was just happy for the airtime. You'd think the Scottish singer would be at least mildly upset to be slagged by a legendary musician like Noel, but no. He gave us all one of his now famous Instagram stories in response.

 "Fucking c’mon! Fucking peaked – slagged off by Noel Gallagher!" he said

"Number 1 single – who gives a fuck? Number 1 album – who gives a fuck? Noel Gallagher has just slagged me off. This is dreams coming true. It’s Father’s Day and I’m being slagged off by a man who’s old enough to be my dad, and I’ve never been more happy."
