Shane MacGowan’s 60th Birthday Party Is The Session Of The Year We All Missed!

Shane MacGowan turned 60 on Christmas Day and a string of heavy weights in the showbiz industry turned out to celebrate The Pogues' singer's birthday in The National Concert Hall in Dublin.

Famous faces like Bono, Imelda May, Sinead O'Connor, Cerys Matthews, Glen Hansard and Johnny Depp showed up to wish the star a happy birthday. President Michael D Higgins also presented the iconic singer with a lifetime achievement award.

Judging by the collection of photos and clips of the event, we can only imagine the atmosphere on the night was nothing short of electric. While the night was a celebration of the renowned star's work, it also paid tribute to legendary Cranberries' singer Dolores O' Riordan, who sadly pass away yesterday.

Here's a glimpse into the night that was a who's who's of powerhouses in the celebrity landscape.

The night was one of poignancy. In tribute to Limerick native Dolores O' Riordan, The Broad Majestic Shannon was dedicated to her memory.
