5 Dublin Vintage Shops To Update Your College Wardrobe On A Budget

You have about a month and a half left to nail your aesthetic before the semester begins. You've been working fierce hours all Summer with so little to show for it. It's time to treat yourself and upgrade your wardrobe before walking down those college corridors.

There's nothing worse than picking up a belter of a top from Penneys, showing up at the club and seeing everyone else wearing it. Buying vintage guarantees that you'll never accidentally 'twin' ever again. Sometimes you want to stand out! On top of that, it's way better for the environment, ethical and cheap!

Here's a rundown of Dublin's best vintage establishments:

Lucy's Lounge, Temple Bar

Lucy's Lounge is a Temple Bar institution. The pretty pink storefront is great for taking a selfie in front of, but the treasures inside are what matters. Lucy's Lounge is predominantly casual clothes which means it's great for a perfectly-aged leather jacket or some funky patterned shirts. It stocks clothes for all genders and the lovely staff are always good for a chat, whether it's about the clothes or not.

Tola Vintage, Temple Bar

Tola Vintage is a very different kettle of fish altogether. Tola is great for sporty clothes that fit a very 90's image. Think TLC in their heyday. You'll find labels such as Nike, Tommy Hilfiger and Adidas and plenty of rainbow colours. The store offers worldwide shipping on their online store. If that's not enough for you, Paramore dropped by last time they were over.

Price Range: €€ - €€€

Dublin Vintage Factory, Smithfield

Dublin Vintage Factory started out underground on South William Street. Like, literally underground, in a basement. At the Smithfield shop, you can buy things separately or you can buy a kilo at a fixed price. Because of its giant size, you can get everything from baseball caps to ballgowns at this well-known establishment. They announced today on Instagram that they'll be opening a new store in Temple Bar too!

Price Range: €, €€

Harlequin, Castle Market

Harlequin is maybe the classiest of the joints on this list. If you're looking for sequined bustiers, gowns and more traditional, elegant vintage, this is the spot. It's also great for an accessory, like a decent sassy hat for those brave enough.

Price range: €€ - €€€ - €€€€

Nine Crows, Temple Bar

Nine Crows are what people think of first when they think of Dublin vintage stores and it's the go to place for your inner hun. The hand-picked garments are always catered to seasons and trends, and you won't be able to pick up what you see in the store on the website either. Go here for brands like Nike, crop tops, bralettes and occasionally a designer handbag.

Price Range: €€ - €€€ - €€€ - €€€€

Go shop yourself silly in these fabulous retailers and show up unrecognisably fly on the first day of lectures.
