Panti Bliss To Open Second Bar In Dublin This Month, Right Beside PantiBar
As the old saying goes, 'There is only one thing better than a single bar operated by the owner and proprietor of PantiBar, Rory O'Neill, and that is two bars operated and run by the owner and proprietor of PantiBar, Rory O'Neill'. A lot of people up to this point may have questioned how such a phrase came to be - particularly as its first recorded usage was in 1785, some 200 years before even the opening of the original PantiBar. Yet, for whatever reason, people stuck with it. People saw it as prophetic and realised that, though it may not mean anything to them yet, one day, it would mean something to someone.
Well, we are finally living in an era where that phrase can assume its full meaning, we are those someone(s?), as Rory O'Neill, more commonly known as Panti Bliss, has announced that a sister bar to PantiBar is set to open its doors.
The new bar will be called Penny Lane and will open, near to the original PantiBar, on Great Strand Street.

Speaking to Joe.ie, Panti Bliss described what she hoped would be the differences between PantiBar and Penny Lane:
"Penny Lane will be a bit more 'grown up' than Pantibar. A slightly older, more sophisticated sister."
She went on to credit PantiBar's manager Shane Harte as being the person who has taken on the lion's share of the work in overseeing the opening.
"Although in this particular case, all the hard work was done by Pantibar's manager Shane Harte who is my business partner in the new venue."
She also announced that the new bar is set to open its doors to the public on Friday 15 February.
