Cheryl Responds To Criticism Over X Factor Performance

When Cheryl announced her pop return by deleting all her posts on Instagram to make room for her first music video in five years, fans rallied around in anticipation of what the 'Fight for this Love' singer would do next.

When Cheryl released 'Love Made Me Do It', written by her former bandmate Nicola Roberts and noughties singer Natasha Bedingfield, it received a lukewarm reception and, sadly, her performance on The X Factor - the TV show that helped bring her career to the next level - fell flat for viewers.

Fans of the X Factor branded her performance as 'atrocious' and 'shocking' on social media. The singer took to Twitter to respond to criticism from viewers and the press who've accused the former Girls Aloud singer of undergoing plastic surgery.

In her official statement, Cheryl thanked her fans for their support but questioned why the press continued to write click-bait articles about her performance and appearance.
