Ireland's Eurovision Entry Is Topping The Charts In The Most Unexpected Places

We've still got it, or so it seems. We're number one in Armenia!

Yes, we might never get through a semi-final again but what does that matter in the grand scheme of things as at least one European country loves us. Brendan Murray, Ireland's Eurovision entry, was on TV3's The Six O' Clock Show when he revealed the big news that his single 'Dying to Try' had made no.1 in Armenia.

Funnily enough, my single ( "Dying to Try") was actually number one in Armenia, number five in Slovenia and number 11 in the viral charts in Belgium...I didn't believe that I'd got to number one when I was first told, but then I saw it and I was like 'that's ridiculous, so weird'.

Well done Brendan!

Murray's chances of winning the Eurovision were dashed when he failed to wow the Eurovision judges less than two weeks ago. The likelihood of Ireland winning/qualifying any time soon is becoming slimmer and slimmer. Murray highlighted the point that Ireland didn't have to compete against as many countries in the 90s - when Ireland won the most - as one of the big issues nowadays, telling the studio:

'It's such a different competition now and it's going to get bigger every year, from what I've heard. There was a Chinese delegation there this year.'

Well, at least that's something! Now, does anyone think we talk Dustin The Turkey or Jedward into trying again next year?
