Tributes Pour In After Popular UL Student Dies Aged 19

Lisa Niland from Co. Sligo, has died after reportedly 'taking ill' in a McDonald's at Carraroe Retail Park, Sligo.

The popular UL student died, aged 19, in Beaumont Hospital last Friday. She has been described as a keen GAA fan and was very popular with all her friends. There was a minute silence for her during Sunday’s FBD match between Sligo and Leitrim.

An ambulance was called after she felt ill while hanging out at the McDonald's, and she was later transferred by helicopter to the hospital in Beaumont. Many local businesses have postponed events and AGMs as a mark of respect to her passing on.

She will be missed by her family, her boyfriend and close friends from home and from University of Limerick.
