9 Acts You Need To See At Electric Picnic

Electric Picnic is just 4 short days away and the excitement is at fever pitch. In advance of its 10th anniversary EP has sold out. College Times is going to be there with the Tour De Picnic and we're getting pretty excited. To help you prepare we put together a list of the best acts that you might not have heard about.

Giorgio Moroder

Newbies will only know this Electronic and Disco God from  Daft Punk's new song Giorgio, but the whizz, who is as old as your granny, (73 in fact) is responsible for some of the best songs and movie soundtracks ever, think Donna Summers, Midnight Express, Scarface, Flashdance and Top Gun.. That's right, Top Gun.

The Knife

The song from the Sony ad with all the bouncing balls.. yeh it's originally by The Knife. The Swedish electronic duo are known for 'Heartbeats' and being very hipster and against the mainstream, so much so that they even didn't perform live for the first 7 years of their existence.

Ocean Colour Scene

Britpop band known for their hit 'Riverboat Song' but not much else. Their live shows are always energetic and EP should be no different.

Tiga

Techno, Electro, Acid House? It's hard to tell what exactly Tiga will play at EP. A rather disappointing set at the Trinity ball earlier this year has us worried but the 39 year old is a dark horse to be one of the best acts at the festival. Not to be confused for rapper Tyga.

Mano Le Tough

The name might be misleading but this Irish born, the Berlin based House and Techno DJ is a regular at the likes of Space and DC-10 in Ibiza and has even been over to the US for a few gigs recently.

Reginald D Hunter

A wild card here. Hilarious Comedian from America, regularly appears on various UK shows including 'Mock the Week' and 'Have I Got News For You'. Different to other American comedians in that he's actually funny.

Krystal Klear

Dublin DJ Krystal Klear who is signed to house legend, Kerri Chandler's label Madtech will headline the Red Bull Stage. He will bang out old school house and disco to fresh faced ravers.

Kodaline

Ok, so they are pretty well known after a summer of smash hits but Kodaline still have a vast array of songs that the majority of people might not have heard. Look for them to get the crowd rocking.

Le Galaxie

Young Irish electronic band making waves in the UK and even further afield so much so that they've been rewarded with a spot on the main stage at this years EP.
