Joris Voorn @ The Button Factory

Ringo, Sweep The Floor, Goodbye Fly, We’re All Clean, Callisto, the list goes on. Joris Voorn is a man that has shaped the tech house scene over the past few years with a host of bonafide dancefloor destroyers.
The Dutchman enjoyed a somewhat unorthodox route to success. Winning a DJ competition back in 1997 he immediately earned a name for himself in his local city of Schiedam however it wasn’t until 2002 that he released his first EP ‘Muted Trax’. It was then that he started to attract notice from a higher plane with both Derrick May and Carl Craig offering full support. The following years point upwards in an almost straight line. Joris continued his work as a fine producer and cemented his reputation as an electric performer.
2009 was undoubtedly his breakthrough into mainstream consciousness. His Dusty House Room EP’s turning heads all over the world and the anthemic Sweep The Floor proving one of the surprise hits of the Ibiza season. Flash forward to this year and Voorn enjoys a position of almost unparalleled success in Tech house. His constant stream of quality productions marks him above all. In the past two years the likes of Goodbye Fly and Ringo have been released with little fanfare but massive fan reaction. His latest effort a contender for his most devastating weapon yet.
So the stage is set for a return Irish appearance following his sold out turn at Tripod many eons ago. JACK (no surprise there) are the ones to host him (alongside the ever dependant POD) and it seems like a sell out crowd will great the tech king as he steps out onto the Button Factory stage. We’re expecting this Friday to go off in a major way, some tickets still going if you want to see just why Voorn had his Space set this summer singled out as one of the finest of the season.
