Monsters University Feat Axwell & Ingrosso
We all loved Monsters Inc. when it came out in 2001, it was a film for all the family and yet kept us all interested. However, the next film in the franchise, "Monsters University", which was released recently is focusing on a different audience. Don't mistake me, it is still a Disney film, but its adding a college/uni flare to the franchise, and what does every film concentrating on college need you ask? A banger of a dance tune is the answer!
In an unexpected move, Disney gave this job to two of the lads from the late Swedish House Mafia - Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso, both acclaimed for their own individual tracks but now coming together once again to create "Roar" - an energetic Electro Funk tune. Sure to be played in clubs around the country (I will start this!) and from a source - in Disney stores round the globe, this track is amazing.
I have just listened to the track in its full glory along with the several remixes that can be bought online including: The Style of Eye remix - which has transformed the song into something along the lines of electro/progressive house and the Yogi Remix adding a dubstep-esque element to the original. The original is groovey! Honestly, I'd put it in a category similar to Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' with some electro added in for fun. It has a funky bass-line and enchanting gospel vocal samples and a beat that makes you want to dance! Something you would not expect less from Axwell and Seb. I safely can say that the original is amazing but the Style of Eye remix really adds something new to it, making the original more mainroom appropriate.
