The annual Met Gala is one of the fashion industry’s biggest nights out. A fundraiser for the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, the event attracts some of the biggest names in music, film, and fashion. This year’s theme was ‘camp’. The fashion definition of camp was explained by writer Susan Sontag as being “a love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration.” While not everyone stuck with the theme, those who did really went all out, and as with any major showbiz event, Twitter’s comedians came out in their droves to meme it.
