Netflix Have Announced The Release Date For Arrested Development's 5th Season

Arrested Development is back for a wildly anticipated fifth season, and it’s being released on the 29th of May.

Five years after the disappointing 4th season was released, it’s been promised that this season will reissue our trust in the writers. The Emmy award winning show is being brought out for the fifth season on Netflix, and the entire cast has said they believe it’s going to be gold. The whole family, Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Michael Cera, Will Arnett, Jeffrey Tambor, Alia Shawkat, Tony Hale, David Cross and Jessica Walter are all coming back to recreate the lovable, hilarious, and messed up Bluth family show.

Seeing as the fourth season largely failed to live up to the expectations of many fans there is an added sense of pressure in the build up to the fifth season's release. In order to curry favour with fans before the release of this season, series creator Mitch Hurwitz announced on May 1st that they'd re-edited the fourth season. Many fans took issue with the way the fourth episode structured its episodes, with each episode largely just focusing on an individual member of the Bluth family, rather than blending their storylines together in each episode in the Seinfeldian way the original three series had. The re-released fourth season was restructured so that the storylines of the characters crossed in each episode.

With a lot more improv being used for the new season than ever before, the cast all agree that this season will make all their fans happy. With all the original cast coming back, even Portia de Rossi who had previously quit acting but had been convinced by the creator Mitch Hurwitz to return to do the fifth season of the show, we’re hoping the show will do itself the justice it deserves.

The first half of the newest season is being released on the 29th of May, with the second half to be released later in the year. with all episodes coming out on Netflix which we will surely binge watch all in one day.
