Dirty John is an 8 part series that is based on a true crime story that involves serial stalker and pathological liar, John Meehan.
Starring Connie Britton, Eric Bana, Juno Temple and Julia Garner, this series follows the life of Deborah Newell, a wealthy, single mother who is trying to find love. The season starts off with her going on a date with a man that she met on an online dating website that she quickly falls for.
From the get-go, her daughters are not happy with the match, proving to see his true colours that their mother is blind to.
John Meehan, the man in question, is a doctor who sweeps Deborah off her feet. You the viewer quickly start to see the flaws in his identity before everything begins to unravel in front of your eyes.
This show is an addition to Netflix's wide range of crime series, further convincing me that is all Netflix is releasing anymore. I'm not complaining - Keep'em coming!
For all of us avid Netflix watchers, soon to be fully fledged detectives, this series really does throw you into a spiral of doubts, slowly affecting our own personal lives, as I will no longer be venturing outside or going to meet anyone I haven't done a full background check on any time soon.
