You might have difficulty pronouncing the films name but Okja is a must see for anyone with a Netflix subscription.
Okja seems like a childrens classic on the surface but it's an adults film through and through. Okja is a "super pig" that is given to Mija, the little girl who's the film's hero, and her grandparents for ten years by a corporation.
The corporation want to discover how to breed the best pigs possible for human consumption. Okja is chosen as the best pig and is taken away. has to go on a terrifying adventure to bring her back.
The film has been getting rave reviews and averaging at 7.5/10 on IMDB and now we know why.

Tilda Swinton is the ultimate villain in Okja
If you've never seen Tilda Swinton play a villain then you haven't lived. Remember her as the Ice Queen in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe? Swinton plays Lucy Mirando, the powerful CEO of the Mirando Corporation looking to make a profit off of Okja.
People are actually paying money to see it in the cinema

Fans of Okja's director Boong Joon -ho, who directed Snowpiercer (2013), are seeing the film in cinemas around the world. Fans told Indiewire they loved being able to see Okja come to life on the big screen and didn't want to subscribe to Netflix.

In a role that has fans confused and critics questioning his acting, Gyllenhaal delivers a quirky Johnny Depp like character that we kind of enjoyed.

The film received a four-minute standing ovation

The film premiered at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival and was met with boos when the Netflix logo appeared on the big screen. By the time the titles rolled around, the crowd burst into a four-minute standing ovation.

Steven Yeun plays K an animal rights activist who tries to help Okja. It'll be one of his first appearances since ending his contract with ABC's The Walking Dead.
