Sweet Christ! A New Girl Is Entering The Love Island Villa From Longford

Love Island returned to our screens last week and the drama has dominated the conversation around the watercooler ever since. We've had new people enter the villa on almost a daily basis and just yesterday Sherif was kicked out of the villa for reasons still unknown.

In another turn of events, two new girls will be entering the villa and one is from the Midlands. Maura Higgins, a model from Co Longford was revealed as one of two new arrivals at the Love Island villa on last night's episode.

We are soo happy we can FINALLY announce Maura will be on @itv2 @loveisland 2019 ❤? Maura is so excited, she has been on lockdown for the last few weeks with no contact with the outside world. So sadly she hasn’t received any of your messages or won’t be able to respond to any of you ? But don’t worry, whilst she is in the villa, she’s left her management & family in charge of her social media... There will be plenty of polls, quizzes, games & memes on her socials throughout the series, so PLEASE support our girl Maura by using her Official links below: IG: @maurahiggins Twitter: @maurahiggins Exclusive Management @off_limits_ent ?Enquires: [email protected] #TeamMaura

Speaking to ITV about her single status and entering the villa, Maura said

I'm outgoing and I really am looking to find love. I'm a relationship type of girl. I hate being single. I was in a nine-year relationship that finished a few years ago.

Speaking about 'her type', arguably the most commonly used phrase on the show, she added:

I would go for personality more than anything. I would definitely look for someone who is really honest and a very confident guy, but not arrogant and definitely someone who makes me laugh.

Great, a bit more substance than Molly-Mae's "he's tall". Maura will join fellow Irish contestant Yewande Biala, who since day one has been a breath of fresh air to the typecast series and firmly established herself as a fan favourite.

I'm excited to tune to see what new girl Maura brings to the villa and more importantly, how many of the fellow Love Island contestants have heard of Longford. In all my days, I've only met a handful of people from Longford, let alone witness one on the biggest reality TV show of the moment. What a sheltered life I lead.
