It's Official: "Better Call Saul" On Its Way

Saul Goodman, the goofy yet strangely professional lawyer of Breaking Bad fame, has landed his own TV show. Played brilliantly by Bob Odenkirk, the unflappable Goodman will star in the tentatively-titled 'Better Call Saul" on American network AMC (which hosts Mad Men and The Walking Dead, among others). A licence agreement has been reached, following lengthy discussions, between Breaking Bad producers Sony Pictures TV and AMC.

Breaking Bad's writer Vince Gilligan has been teasing the idea of Saul's starring role for a while now. “I would love to see a Saul Goodman spinoff,” he said in a July 2012 interview. “I like the idea of a lawyer show in which the main lawyer will do anything it takes to stay out of a court of law. He’ll settle on the courthouse steps, whatever it takes to stay out of the courtroom. That would be fun — I would like that."
