I never thought this day would come. It always seemed so far off, so out of reach, so “that will never happen to me.” Now, the time has come, and I am in my final semester of college. I’m far from happy about it. College has truly been the greatest four years of my entire life. This is the peak of my life, and as I see it, it can only go downhill from here.
But with this list, I am certain that anyone can make the last semester of college the best semester. Here are 8 things you absolutely need to do before graduating from college:
1. Take a class for fun.
Now is one of your last chances to take a class without having to go out of your way to do so. At this point, most of us have met our necessary curriculum requirements, so take a class that actually interests you, just because you can. Learn about something you’ve always wanted to learn about, but never been required to. Take something fun, interesting, creative or whatever floats your boat. This is your last chance to, so make the most of it.
2. Sneak onto the highest roof on campus.
We all have that one building that overlooks the entire campus. So one night, climb up there just for fun. Bring a few friends with you on the adventure, and make a memory that none of you will ever forget. It’s a great way to reminisce about the good times you’ve had and pay tribute to the place you’ve called home for the past four years.
3. Pull an all-nighter because you can.
We’ve all pulled an all-nighter right before an exam, but when was the last time any of us pulled one just for fun? Heck, what responsibilities do we really have to worry about the next day? Drink with your friends all night until the sun comes up. The only time you can ever get away with doing something like that is now, so do it.
4. Meet someone new.
It doesn’t matter who you meet or where you meet the person, but make it a goal to try to befriend someone new. Is there someone in your class you’ve always thought was cute? Is there a super cool, edgy girl you’ve always wanted to be friends with? Now’s your chance to go for it. If it doesn’t work out, you can avoid the person for the rest of your life since you’ll probably never see him or her again after college.
5. “Dage” (aka Day Rage).
Day drinking is a great way to switch up the normal drinking routine. One day when it’s nice out during spring semester, spend all day drinking on your quad or green space. It’s surprisingly a lot of fun, and it’s sometimes even more fun than raging at night. You’ll thank me later.
6. Spend all of your money and go away for a week with your college mates.
Splurge on your last holiday with the college pals. Go a bit crazy post exams, blow off steam and seriously enjoy yourselves.
7. Actually roll out of bed for class.
Seriously, just one hungover day, roll out of bed exactly as you look and go to class. Don’t even bother brushing your hair or washing your face. Do it just so you can say you’ve done it. Trust me, it’s oddly liberating.
8. Go out every single night.
OK, this one might be harder to do, as some people have real responsibilities. But every chance you have to go out, take it. Never pass on an opportunity to go drink with your friends. You won’t be able to go out on a Tuesday when you’re working full time; I’ll tell you that much. This is our last chance to drink as much as we can, so do it while you still are able to.
