Vote now for Meteor Irish song of the Year
Over the next month or so I'll be giving you two handfuls of quirky reasons as to why each of the nominees for the METEOR CHOICE MUSIC PRIZE SONG OF THE YEAR should be getting your vote. Second in the list of nominees is Dubliner James Vincent McMorrow

Because... could this win song of the year?
Because James began his career as a drummer....but it wasn't enough, it's never enough, you can be whatever you want to be....

Because this is James in a woolly hat...yes, we know, he rock's a woolly hat!
Because his sold out shows in the National Concert Hall this February should be spectacular if his Olympia shows of 2011 are any barometer.....but alas. they're both sold out.....
Because for an alternative twist, British band The 1975 (below) have done a remix of Cavalier. By the way, for those who aren't familiar with The 1975 they're the band that released a song called Chocolate, y'know...the one with the really annoying singer.

Because he has a great grasp on music, having made it clear he doesn’t see it as such a bizarre outcome that what many of us listen to in our early to late teens and the music we’re into as we get older changes quite significantly channeling his journey from his early punk orientated days to where he is now musically.
Because debut album Early In The Morning was nominated for Irish Album of the Year at the Meteor Choice Music Prize the year it was released along with an appearance on Later With Jools Holland
Because he has Flamingos for friends..

Because thanks to his cover of Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love” being used in a LoveFILM advert,his name spread internationally and led to almost 3 years of constant touring.
