150 Students Made Counterfeit Wristbands To Sneak Into Freshers Event In DTwos

Nights out with a society is a right of passage during your college years but over a hundred students decided to wing it rather than pay the cover charge.

According to The University Times, 150 students showed up to the Eat Sleep Réabh Arís, an Ents event, with counterfeit wristbands.

The event was organised by Cumann Gaelach, Law Soc and Dublin University Business and Economics Society and Trinity Ents and was held in DTwo nightclub on Harcourt St.

The event was part of Freshers week, in which students could buy a wristband to attend all events ran by the Ents society. Bands performing at the event including Boots & Kats and the hip-hop band Kneecap. According to Ents Officer David Flood, who spoke to The University Times, the bands were easily spotted and security had been briefed on the correct bands before the event.

Flood said that students did not object when they were turned away for having fake bands.
